It will provide its users from science, policy and industry access to a platform for interdisciplinary research, inspiration, education and training. Attracting top scientists worldwide, it will facilitate collaboration between stakeholders in research, industry, policy and third sector organisations, and contribute to new understandings, effective interventions and policy instruments that ensure the sustainable functioning of River-Sea-systems and ecosystem service provision. DANUBIUS-RI offers access to: physical locations that can be studied (Supersites: covering a range of European River-Sea systems); long-term collated and harmonized data as well as (earth and in-situ) observation, chemical & biological analysis, modelling and training (e-learning) facilities.
